How To Use

Apply a small amount to damp skin and work into a gentle lather. Massage over face and neck, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Use morning and evening. Suitable for daily use on even the most sensitive or compromised skin. Safe to use immediately post-treatment — microneedling, peels, laser, or LED.

What makes the Cleansing Gel different from other gel cleansers for oily skin?

Most gel cleansers for oily skin are aggressively degreasing — they strip sebum thoroughly but leave the barrier compromised, which paradoxically triggers more oil production as the skin tries to compensate. The Cleansing Gel uses salicylic acid and willow bark extract to clear the pore lining and control oil specifically, while niacinamide regulates sebum production and refines pores, and the HydroPeptide peptide complex actively supports skin structure and barrier function during cleansing. The net result is less oil, clearer pores, and a stable barrier — rather than a cycle of stripping followed by rebound oiliness that most acne and oily-skin cleansers perpetuate.

Is Cleansing Gel suitable for sensitive skin?

For combination skin — oily T-zone with normal or dry cheeks — it works well, but I recommend using it only on the oily zones rather than all over. For sensitive skin without congestion or oiliness, the Cashmere Cleanse is more appropriate. For sensitive skin that also has congestion or breakouts, a starting frequency of once daily rather than twice daily, building as tolerated, is what I recommend. The salicylic acid concentration is calibrated for daily use rather than being an aggressive clinical-strength formula — but those with very reactive skin should build slowly.

How does it fit into my routine?

Use morning and evening as the first step. Apply to damp skin and massage gently for 60 seconds — the salicylic acid needs contact time to clear the pore lining effectively. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Avoid hot water, which stimulates oil production. Follow with AquaBoost on slightly damp skin, then your serums and a non-comedogenic moisturiser. On evenings when you're using the Balancing Mask, use the Cleansing Gel first to pre-clear the skin, then apply the mask for a deeper congestion-clearing session.

When will I see results?

Most clients notice reduced shine and a cleaner, less congested feeling after the first few uses. Active breakouts begin responding within one to two weeks as salicylic acid normalises the pore environment and reduces the bacterial load that drives inflammation. Meaningful reduction in blackheads, congestion, and breakout frequency is typically visible at the four-to-six week mark as the cumulative effect of twice-daily salicylic acid use clears the buildup that conventional cleansers miss. Can I use it if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

I recommend checking with your obstetrician first. The Cleansing Gel contains salicylic acid, which is generally used with caution during pregnancy. As a rinse-off product the absorption is limited, but the precaution is still warranted. Can I use the Cleansing Gel alongside the Resurface & Repair Peptide Pads?

Yes — they work beautifully together and target congestion from complementary angles. How long does a tube last?

At twice-daily use with a small amount — approximately a 20-cent coin-sized amount per cleanse — the tube lasts approximately six to eight weeks. The gel activates and expands on contact with water, so a little goes further than you'd expect. Resist the urge to use more; additional product doesn't improve the result and will burn through the tube faster than necessary.

Is it worth it compared to a pharmacy salicylic acid cleanser?

The salicylic acid in pharmacy cleansers is typically at the same or similar concentration — the meaningful difference is everything around it. A pharmacy gel cleanser strips and clears.
